Mila learned to ride in 2016 at 8 years old in the Hunter/Jumper discipline and started competing in USEF and USHJA Regional and A-Circuit horse shows at 10 years old. In 2018, she participated on a riding team through the Interscholastic Equestrian Association as well as competed individually through 2021. Her foundational stages of riding taught her the important values of hard work, responsibility and commitment. She is so fortunate to have developed an immense love for and a strong connection with her equine teammates.
In 2019 Mila took her first polo lesson at Orange County Polo Club, and her passion for the sport of polo evolved quickly, eventually closing the chapter in the Hunter/Jumper arena. Mila has played in USPA Interscholastic and Open arena tournaments locally, regionally, statewide and nationwide. She currently holds the Championship title for the USPA Women's Arena Open in 2023 and 2022. In addition, she has participated in many of the Polo Training Foundation's Junior Polo Programs, has played in USPA NYTS outdoor tournaments (including the 2024 NYTS Championship) and has participated in many polo clinics to advance her game.
Along with the values instilled in Mila in her early years of riding, playing polo has helped her develop much confidence as a player and as a young woman. It has deepened her level of focus and commitment, on behalf of her teammates and for herself. She has learned that no matter what, the values of good sportsmanship and good horsemanship are paramount. Mila is currently playing polo at the Intercollegiate level at University of Kentucky. She is proud to represent her university, both academically and as an equestrian athlete.
